Certification and Traceability
Fruit carrying the Fyffes Bio Organic label is sourced from farms with organic certification and all points along the supply chain are geared-up to protect the integrity of the organic produce. Comprehensive traceability systems ensure that fruit can be correctly identified and accounted for at every stage and organic fruit is handled and packed in a way that avoids potential contamination from non-organic produce.

Fyffes Organic Bananas are proving very popular, particularly in Germany. A hummingbird has been chosen as the mascot for our communications to customer and consumer because these beautiful but very fragile birds are symbolic of our ambition to minimise our impact on the environment and work in harmony with nature whenever possible.
In establishing the Fyffes Organic brand, we wanted to to underline its added value by:
- presenting the environmental and social attributes to consumers
- providing strong visibility at the point-of-sale
- informing and motivating fruit + veg staff
- making the offer more appealing to the shopper by running consumer promotions and competitions
