Shipping and Distribution
The Fyffes Gold pineapple has taken many years of careful development. At the point of harvest it contains the ideal balance of sugar and acidity, providing good shelf life and exceptional taste. It must be shipped to market as quickly as possible under controlled conditions and specialised vessels make this possible.
Once the vessel arrives at its port of destination, the fruit is loaded on to a temperature controlled truck for onward transportation to one of Fyffes distribution centres. Here, the fruit is checked for quality once more and kept cool, awaiting delivery to the customer.
Supersweet pineapples are naturally sweeter and juicier than traditional pineapples – and of course they have the added benefit of being ripe and ready to eat as soon as you buy them.
