Banana Oatmeal Bars With Chocolate Chips

200g(7oz)n flour
2 tsp. baking powder
110g (4oz)porridge oats
110g (4oz) half fat butter
175g (6oz)light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 medium bananas
50g (2oz) plain chocolate chips
Method
1.Heat the oven to 180C/350F/gas mark 4. Grease a shallow 7x10” baking tin with a little extra soft butter and dust with flour.
2.Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl and mix-in the oats. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy then beat in the eggs one at a time, with the vanilla extract.
3.Peel and roughly mash the bananas, then fold into the mixture with the chocolate chips.
4.Fold in the flour mixture then turn into the tin and level. Bake for 35 minutes until the top is golden and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
5.Cool in the tin on a rack, then cut into 12 bars and serve.
