Barbecue Savoury Devils

Kids love to make these bite sized starters/appetisers. With a little help from an adult these wonderfully tasty banana and bacon treats can be cooked under a grill, on a barbecue or in the oven. If cooking chicken on the BBQ, these make a great accompaniment too.

Preparation time 5 – 10 minutes
Cooking time 5 – 8 minutes

6 bananas, peeled
12 rindless rashers maple flavoured streaky bacon

To serve
A little mango chutney, blended


Method

1.Quarter each banana. With the back of a round bladed knife stretch the bacon then cut each rasher into 4 even pieces.
2.Roll each piece of banana with the bacon and secure carefully in place with a cocktail stick.
3.Cook over a medium heat of the barbecue, turning occasionally to prevent burning. Serve with the mango chutney as a dip.

Cook’s tip
To help prevent the cocktail sticks from burning soak them in warm water 30 minutes before cooking.
