Let The Good Grow with Fyffes at this Year’s Fruit Attraction

8th October 2024 |

At this year’s Fruit Attraction, Fyffes is focused on growth – growing with customers as a category, growing our product range, growing with communities and suppliers.

In pursuit of our ‘Growing Good’ agenda, Fyffes is hosting its first ever Supplier Summit, to coincide with the fruit fair to support Suppliers to be ‘future ready’ in preparation for upcoming human rights and environmental due diligence legislation.

Last week Fyffes published its third Human Rights Report, building the company’s expertise in this important area. Existing and emerging human rights and environmental due diligence legislation, including the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), will greatly enhance transparency for retailers and consumers about how the people, environment and communities in the value chain are treated. However, the legislation also creates an additional burden on suppliers which Fyffes is keen to support, in line with the ’shared responsibility’ obligation, as set out in CSDDD.

Fyffes stand at Fruit Attraction reflects our long-held commitment to the wellbeing of the communities where we harvest our fresh produce, both from an environmental and human rights viewpoint. Fyffes is on track to achieve our 13 sustainability targets, which were first published in 2021 and cover our own operations and supply chain.

Fyffes will also showcase Trudi’s at Fruit Attraction: our consumer brand aimed at ‘Good Fruit Doing Good’. Trudi’s is designed to provide retailers with a solution to drive category value and give purpose-driven consumers the ability to give back by strengthening women empowerment, access to nutrition and quality education for kids in the communities where the fresh produce is grown.

We are looking forward to meeting with customers, updating them on our progress and demonstrating to them how we can help them grow; helping them achieve their ambitious greenhouse gas targets, Living Wage commitments, human rights goals as well as a range of community initiatives.
